From childhood dream to passion
I was born and raised in Utrecht, and from a young age, I was in love with drawing. In elementary school, I wrote stories in my notebook and drew illustrations for them. My teacher would take my notebook home every week to read to her own children. Over the years, I continued to draw and studied restoration and decorative painting at Nimeto, where I learned a lot. After Nimeto, I took a different path. For years, the idea of doing something with drawing or painting lingered in the back of my mind, but I didn't know exactly how or what, and therefore, I didn't dare to change my chosen path.
That is, until my dear, creative mother passed away at the end of 2025. I realized more than ever how short and precious life is and that there is nothing I would rather do than create on paper and canvas. Since then, I have slowly tried to trust what I feel is good for me, for my life energy, and to build a new path. I love drawing and painting flowers, nature, people, and animals. These subjects reappear in my work and inspire me.
